Wellington, FL – March 9, 2017 – This Friday evening, March 10, will feature a special way to kick-off the weekend, as round four of the $250,000 Gladiator Polo™ League presented by the U.S. Polo Assn. returns to Equestrian Village at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). The event, which has become the hottest ticket in town for date night and family entertainment, will host two more regular season games and conclude with the final on Saturday, April 8.
As an enhanced option, spectators can do it up with dinner Argentine-style by purchasing tickets for an optional asado, which offers a sumptuous and authentic buffet. The view of the competition doesn’t get any better than from the asado tent, where diners get an up-close-and-personal view of the action ringside. Asado tickets are $40 a piece and can be purchased by clicking here!
This Friday pits six of the top high-goal U.S. and international polo players in round four with two teams opposing each other in the $33,000 match. Roldan, who at the age of 15 was the youngest player ever to win the United States Open Polo Championship, will be competing in Gladiator Polo™ for his first time Friday.
“It looks like fun!” he said, adding that Gladiator Polo™, which is contested in an arena, is a great way to enhance spectators’ viewing experience and appreciation of the high-intensity sport. “Unlike on a huge grass polo field, where we [players] are all spread out and spectators watch from a distance, arena polo lets you witness what’s happening from just a few yards away. You get a very different perspective on what it’s really like to play polo.”
